My approach is Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Attachment Theory, which consists of basing therapy on the bond that is established in the therapeutic space. I seek to create a safe space for you to find a connection with yourself, which will help you learn new tools and resources to build resilience to face day-to-day situations.

Throughout my experience as a psychologist I have accompanied people in their therapeutic process, dealing with issues related to anxiety, depression and self-esteem problems. I have also worked with trauma and grief of people who have had complicated childhoods, and who have carried these emotional wounds throughout their lives. Sometimes, adaptation problems and difficulties in relationships can be generated because, when bonding from an insecure attachment, people often respond through their fears and insecurities, which makes it difficult to generate secure attachments in their relationships where there is room for constructive discussions.

On the child and adolescent side, I have experience working with children and adolescents as well as parents on problems related to tantrums, anxious attachment, emotional disorders, anxiety problems, childhood depression, behavioural disorders, adaptive difficulties at school, as well as working with trauma and bereavement. Occasionally, I accompany children in conflict situations such as divorce or adjustment problems at school.

I have also accompanied expatriates living in other countries, who have had to face difficult situations such as loneliness, adapting to a new country with its own rules, and cultural clashes among others. I have always been surrounded by international people, and I am knowledgeable about different cultures.

When starting a therapeutic process, taking the first step can be difficult and that is why I look for ways to make the process easier, so that you can express yourself without feeling judged. Communication is key for this first step, which helps us work as a team, where I as a psychologist can function as an emotional support and contain you in the difficult moments of your life. For this to happen, confidentiality in therapy is very important, by which all professionals are bound.

Although all these stages occur simultaneously, the schematized therapeutic process is be the following:

  • First interview, when we talk about the reason for consultation and expectations or objectives to work on in the sessions. If the person is coming to therapy for the first time, a therapeutic framework is usually shared to explain how therapy works.
  • Subsequently, in general, some assessment may be carried out, where tests may be sent to explore the reason for consultation.
  • In the fourth session, feedback of the process is given to explain where problems come from or the way we are going to face the difficulties.
  • Finally, we begin to apply the intervention. We first start working on thoughts and emotions (what we would call psychoeducation) in order to achieve emotional stability, and then we carry out a deeper work.

Afterwards, debriefing meetings are conducted throughout the therapeutic process.
